Victron Energy BatteryProtect BP 220 12 and 24 volt The BatteryProtect disconnects the battery from non-essential loads before the battery is completely discharged (which would damage the battery) or before there is insufficient power left to start the engine. Prevent your battery from being discharged too deeply. Disconnect loads before your battery can no longer start the engine. Victron Energy's programmable battery monitor disconnects non-essential loads before the battery is fully discharged (beneficial for battery life), or even much earlier so that you can still start the engine. Automatic voltage selection between 12 and 24 V The BatteryProtect automatically detects the system voltage and adjusts the connection and disconnection levels accordingly. Fully programmable with a simple 'countdown' program The BatteryProtect can be set to switch on/off at different voltages using a simple 'countdown' program. See the manual for further details. Overvoltage protection To prevent damage to sensitive equipment due to overvoltage, the load is disconnected when the voltage exceeds 16 V or 32 V. No explosion hazard The load is switched spark-free using MOSFET semiconductors. Delayed alarm The alarm is activated after the battery voltage has remained below the set disconnect level for 12 seconds. Starting the engine will therefore not activate the alarm. The alarm output is an open collector to the negative supply, max. current 500 mA. A buzzer and/or warning lamp is usually connected to the alarm output. Delayed load disconnection The load is disconnected only 1 minute after the alarm has been activated. The load is not disconnected if the voltage rises above the alarm level again within that period.
