The Victron Blue Smart IP22 Battery Charger 12/30 (1) is an intelligent 12V battery charger with a maximum charging current of 30A. The charger can be monitored and configured via the VictronConnect App on your smartphone. Suitable for The Victron Blue Smart IP22 Battery Charger 12/30 (1) is suitable for all types of 12V lead-acid batteries as well as 12V lithium batteries. The Victron Blue Smart 12/30 (1) is suitable for batteries from 25Ah to approximately 300Ah for charging and up to approximately 400Ah for maintenance charging. Power supply The Blue Smart chargers can also be used as a power supply. In this mode, the charger directly supplies 12V and up to the charger's maximum current to the onboard electrical system. Connection to the battery No cables are supplied for connecting the charger to the battery. We recommend the following DC cabling: up to 2 metres distance, a minimum conductor cross-section of 10mm², and for a distance of 2 to 5 metres, a minimum conductor cross-section of 16mm². VictronConnect App With the VictronConnect App you can configure/set up and monitor your Blue Smart IP22 charger using your mobile phone. You can view the status of both the charger and the battery. Your phone screen displays the voltage and available charging current. IP22 protected housing / insulation class The Blue Smart IP22 12/30 (1) has an IP22-protected housing design. This means the charger is protected against accidental contact because the housing is fully enclosed. The housing is not protected against water, so the charger is intended for indoor use only. 'Green' battery charger with very high efficiency The Blue Smart IP22 12/30 (1) has very high efficiency (up to 95%), generating up to four times less heat than comparable models from other brands. When the battery is fully charged, power consumption drops to 0.5 watt, which is also generally better than the industry standard. Storage mode The unique storage mode of the Blue Smart IP22 12/30 (1) reduces corrosion of the positive plates. Even the lower float-charging voltage that follows absorption charging will always cause some corrosion. The Blue Smart IP22 12/30 lowers the charging voltage even further if the battery remains connected to the charger for more than 48 hours. This results in lower power consumption and better battery maintenance. Temperature-compensated charging The Blue Smart IP22 12/30 (1) takes ambient temperature into account when determining and applying the voltage during charging and maintenance. The optimum charging voltage of a lead-acid battery is inversely proportional to temperature. At lower temperatures, the charger therefore uses higher voltages. This provides better battery maintenance and can extend battery life. This temperature compensation does not apply when charging lithium batteries. Advice: never charge a lithium battery below 0 degrees Celsius, as this is harmful to the battery. Also suitable for Li-ion The Blue Smart IP22 12/30 (1) is also suitable for Li-ion batteries. The Blue Smart 12/30 uses a specific charging algorithm for Li-ion (LiFePO₄) batteries. It also features an automatic safety and reset function for Li-ion batteries at excessively low battery voltage. Reconditioning The Blue Smart IP22 12/30 (1) has a reconditioning function. The Blue Smart 12/30 charger can partly recover a lead-sulphuric-acid battery that has not been sufficiently charged or has been deeply discharged by reconditioning it (dissolving sulphation). This is done by charging the battery at a low current while simultaneously applying a high voltage. Recovery function for deeply discharged batteries The Blue Smart IP22 12/30 (1) will even attempt to charge deeply discharged batteries. This situation can occur if a battery has not been charged, or has only been charged very little, for a long period.
